»Mouna ia a singer and percussionist from Meknes, Morocco and comes from a well-known musical family.

»She plays professionally in a number of bands and has performed with top world music artists.

»As well as specialising in Moroccan singing and drumming, Mouna has studied a wide variety of other styles and techniques. She attended the C.I.A.M music academy in Bordeaux, France and has studied in both Morocco and Cuba.

»She has over 14 years teaching and facilitating experience whose richness is the direct result of the diversity of the projects she has undertaken and the passion and commitment with which she delivers them.

Mouna has a unique and extremely powerful combination of singing and drumming skills. Her speciality is the traditional singing styles of Morocco that are typically accompanied with percussion only such as "Aissawa" and "Gnawa" as well as the more electric pop/dance styles of "Chaabi" music. She spent 2 years studying percussion at the "C.I.A.M" music academy in Bordeaux , France and was also part of France's top samba school "Macunaima" with whom she played an active role in carnivals and stage performances.
Since arriving in the UK, she has played extensively on the London scene and has played and toured with artists such as Hassan Erraji from Morocco and the Brazilian band "Estrella del Norte". She was a founding member of "The Moroccan'Roll Convention" fusion band and has been actively promoting Moroccan music and culture in the UK for the last 5 years.

Mouna has extensive experience teaching and facilitating music and drumming workshops. As well as her work with Beats Work, she has facilitated singing and percussion workshops in both France and the UK and has participated in social projects including groups for women only. Her empathy with clients, commitment to projects and her amazing singing voice make her an outstanding facilitator.
